Hi terpe or anyone else with this info.
My Wfie Maricris has been giving me some ear ache lately keeps going on about changing all her documents from her Maiden name to Married name e.g Passport.. English test certificate, and if possable when she gets it her CFO. and any other paper work she has.
I have said to her that from the advice on the forum it is not wise to change all these papers. Could somone please advise her other than me as she dose not listen to me. Maricris is a pain in my :censored::Rasp:

We have kept everything in my wife's maiden name. Seems to have worked so far. She has her visa and her CFO sticker - all in her maiden name. We will continue that until she sets foot in the UK, at least. That is the plan.

Her flight ticket will be in her maiden name.

Hi John,
Ha ha ! I understand just what you are saying. It's a big thing to now change the name on everything.
Most people do not change their key documents into their new married names, and personally I totally agree.
It's absolutely not needed by UKBA at anytime.
Changing those documents in Phils can be a source of major problems due mainly to mistakes and potential long waiting times.

If your wife really wants to change her passport name, let her do it in UK when you are both safely together. Even then it's not at all necessary.

We've all been there John ha ha :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Hi, John & Maricris ... :iagree: with each of the other respondents; it's best to leave the name-changing until the partner's in the UK. Myrna, for instance, obtained her first - and only - passport to date, in September 2008, and will have it renewed in her married surname next March ... after she applies for British Citizenship. :xxgrinning--00xx3:
