So here's the follow up situation:
FLR M Visa: Maiden Name
New Passport: Spouse's family name
What name should we follow in purchasing plane ticket?:Erm:
What questions do I expect to encounter in immigration when I get back to the UK? What other documents do I have to present to them to prove my identity? :ReadIt:
Thanks a lot

If your Visa is in an old passport, always take both passports with you (and always take photocopies of the visa and keep them in a safe place).
Buy the air ticket using the name on your CURRENT passport.
Could also be useful to carry a photocopy of your marriage certificate.

Slight correction on Graham's advice.
You book the air ticket in the name on your passport.
On re-entry to the UK, you MUST present both your passport and your FLR ID card.
..... and remember, for the vast majority of European countries, you'll need to obtain a visa BEFORE travelling (see the various threads under Schengen visa).

Not quite....If your Visa is in an old passport
.... the (new) FLR is not a visa stamped into a passport, it's an actual ID card, which also features your biometrics.
On re-entry to the UK, the card is usually fed into a reader, and your fingerprint is checked.
so... no FLR card = big problems at border control.
