about CFO seminar.. please help me..

hello, just want to ask some advice if do i need to attend CFO semninar before applying a fiance visa? or just attend later after i granted a visa (i hope so)

hi marie its best to attend the cfo after you have been granted a visa. the seminar will only take 3 hours so no hassle at all.

you can also attend the cfo interview after youve submitted your fiance visa documents with the VFS...and then do the cfo sticker after youve been granted a visa.

Hi Marie it is perfectly ok to get the cfo pass after you have recieved your visa. imo this is the best way to get your cfo as you can do it all in one day saving you the hasstle of having to return to get the cfo sticker attached to your passport

But my wife chose to do it the hard way making 3 trips and meeting up with pals who were also doing the same! I think she just wanted an excuse to visit the Mall of Asia etc. :icon_lol:

additional..just take note that if your visa effective date hasn't started yet, CFO would not put the sticker on your passport and they would ask you to just return on the start of your visa effective date..

Hi. On a more serious note. You will need to take a good deal of supporting materials with you. My wife took quite a lot but couldnt remember my home ZIP code and hadnt taken it with her so she had to text me for that as they required it. Her pals had to go back for yet another trip as they didnt take everything with them the first time. They often ask for a picture of you and your fiance / spouse, though my wife was permitted to show a picture of us together on her mobile phone. In our case they asked for a copy of my divorce papers which my wife had with her (I dont know if that is a requirement in the case of a fiance visa.)

a copy of divorce paper is required if your fiance/hubby is previously married..it is said in the seminar that they needed information of the foreign husband/fiance to protect the Filipina wife/fiancee just in case something bad happens like abuse/human trafficking, etc. Most of the time, what's being asked is the Maiden name of your hubby/fiance's mother. Other questions they asked is about personal stuffs related to your hubby/fiance and about your relationship (when & where did you meet, etc.)..this is just to prove you know your hubby/fiance very well..according to CFO, they put the data in their records for future reference in case legal matters are needed..

the things you just need to bring then are original and photocopy of passport and visa, P250 for the CFO Seminar fee and P400 for the sticker, some photos of you & hubby together, and completed registration form (they will provide you the form).
