The first TV I ever bought myself back in 1987 was a Ferguson, a gigantic thing with a 22 inch FST colour screen and stereo speaker cabinet, it cost me £449 from Rumbellows. I was very proud of myself then:icon_lol:

Whether we like it or not, the media pretty much control everything. We saw that when the politicians were scared poopless when up against Murdoch.

When the News International scandal broke, there were a few reports of a survey of who people thought the world's most powerful people were. Murdoch ranked at No 5 on the list, alongside Presidents:NoNo:
The Media Moghuls have been influencing decision makers for years. Sky TV and the income it generates for the EPL has been the main reason for the influx of foreign mercenaries into English football. I'm usually a supporter of Fergie, but it seems a strange comment to make, especially as his club receives the largest share of TV revenue given their domestic and European success of late:Erm:

Well He is right when he says you shake hands with the devil,TV call the shots and I accept that.
We can now watch games in HD every night of the week, coverage is great and the money has allowed lot's of great footballers to grace our pitches.
Down side it does the National team no good but you can't have it all.
He loves a good rant and so do we on here:icon_lol:

Fergie doesn't control the media contracts though, he just manages the team with what is available, and if he's told he has £100 million to spend which manager wouldn't (excluding Wenger :icon_lol:)?
It's been proven that Murdoch had no effect over how elections turned out, that argument is based on no stats to back it up and the idea that all of those that read his papers are brainless.... whereas in truth that'll just be the Mancs :D
