Nottingham Forest manager Steve McClaren says there needs to be "drastic changes" at the club.

The Reds were beaten 5-1 by Championship rivals Burnley on Tuesday, going 3-0 down after 30 minutes.

McClaren told BBC Radio Nottingham: "Something drastic has to be done because we can't carry on like this.

I think the "drastic change" will be showing McLaren the door. Why Forest ever employed a muppet like him is beyond me.

:cwm24: ... so you reckon the 'wally with the brolly' :raining: can look forward to his Pee 45?

Exactly Arthur - Forest are rightly peed off with him

He's on the gravy train though, the sack will be followed by a period as a TV "Pundit" (although why they value his opinion is questionable), followed by another mug club hiring him. I wish Man Utd would re-employ him !

Resigned actually, but hey, why let the facts get in the way of a post?!

He should have held out for the sack though, at least he’d have got compensation for being messed about by the Forest board. The Chairman (and owner) has just been on TV gloating that he doesn’t need to pay him off.

I wonder how many of us would feel if we were given assurances during an interview and then once we started the job we found out that it was all lies.

Billy Davies should never have been sacked – but he had numerous fall-outs with the club owner and there can only be one winner when that happens. He said that the squad wasn’t strong enough but over the summer the club lost more players than they brought in – leaving it even weaker.

McClaren was promised funds for new players but then was told that he’d have to use the loan market instead. When he tried to get players on loan the owner said he couldn’t have them as their wages would be too high.

There is a huge problem at Forest, almost a sickness that runs through the club. The majority of fans feel that the underlying problems lie with the Chairman and Chief Executive rather than with McClaren. Many feel that McClaren should have stayed on and there is a lot of sympathy for him.

McClaren, the England job (and few months at Wolfsburg) apart, has a very good record in football. Lets not forget that he was Alex Ferguson’s assistant when Man U won the treble. He also did wonders at Middlesborough getting them to the UEFA cup final, which was a significant achievement, especially for a club of that size.

When Roy Hodgson did the same with Fulham he was revered as a genius.

You can hardly call his 2 years at Twente a failure either. Runners up in his first season and winning the title in his second

He deserved better than what he got at Forest and he’ll probably have to return to Europe to re-build his reputation.

In the meantime Forest will be looking for another sucker to drink from the poisoned chalice. The irony is that the ideal man for the job was the one they sacked a few months ago.

A club like Forest deserve better than a clown like McClaren. He was just the Monkey to Organ Grinder Ferguson, at 'Boro they chucked their season tickets at him, there then followed the disgraceful England episode, granted by some fluke he did OK in Holland. He then got greedy, hot footed it to Germany a week after winning the Dutch league - it took Wolfsburg 6 months or so to realise they had a waster on the payroll before binning him.

His best role is as a Gofer bringing out the balls, setting up cones etc. He will only be remembered for standing in the rain with the brolly at Wembley and speaking English with a stupid Dutch accent at Twente.

What irks me is next week we will see his gormless grinning face on the box doing a bit of punditry. I'd rather he just disappeared like David O'Dreary & John Gregory

Those self absorbed prats Hansen, Lineker and Lawrenson are well past their sell by date - it's time the BBC conducted a cost cutting exercise on them
