I need to buy a generator for the house. The typhoon has knocked out the power all week and it is not likely to be back until next week some time.
Can anyone suggest the best place to buy one in Phils or give links. I think I saw some in our local Robinsons, but cannot find them on their website. Also what price will a decent one be ?
thanks
:)

I looked in my files and found a note under generators that only said:-
Ace Hardware
About P60k large size
Honda & Coleman
That's about as much as I can offer right now

Here is a link to an international company based near Scarborough, Steve. http://www.erskine-systems.co.uk/index.php
I appreciate this is urgent, and you would be best to contact them yourself. They have a good reputation and I regularly meet one of the directors and a retired operations manager socially, so let me know if I can help further :xxgrinning--00xx3:.

A 6KVA (6 HP) generally costs around 60 K although I have seen some available in Cebu for 40++..
Those things are quite large and are capable of running a couple of A/C`s as well as everything else in the house..and more! I have friends that run small resorts on them.
A small 1 HP Gen can be got just about at any local hardware store from as little as 5K.. These will run a few fans, lights,PC`s and even a small TV..
Make sure you run the thing every couple of weeks as if not, they tend to be troublesome Im told.

My friend worked out that I need one that will put out 3500watts, based on all my appliances Fred. That is of course with overkill built in. Any ideas on prices for one that size, if you are out and about could you take a look for me please :)

OK Steve.. Ive had a look around and the closest I can find for your needs is a 6 KVA Honda.. There is a 3.5 model Im told but the total output is only 2.5/3..
Some of my friends that own the 6 KVA units say the prices in Cebu are still around 60 K (ish)
Generators are available in just about every local hardware store here so you will have no problem locating what you need.. My advice though is to go Japanese ..Not Chinese!!
