I went there at 12 years old on a school "Travel Day" we went up the tower then on to Old Sarum after lunch.
Nice day out :D

If you can get a visa to go, I would thoroughly recommend a visit to Alcobaca cathedral, Batalia cathedral near Leira and the shrine of Our Lady of Fatima - particularly on a sunday. All within a short drive of one another in central Portugal, north of Lisbon but south of Porto.
