Moving Servers

At some point in the next few days the forum will be moving to a new server. Currently it shares a dedicated server with my other forum Win2Win Racing (http://www.win2win.co.uk/forum/forum.php), along with about 80 blogs and other sites. Last weeks 24hr downtime meant all these sites went off-line so in order to prevent that happening in the future I will be moving the forums onto their own VPS, the blogs will be split onto another 2 VPS.

Currently I pay about £200 a month for the dedicated server, and have used it for about 5 years. However technology has since moved on and strangely by having what is technically 4 servers with 2 different companies will only cost about £100 a month :cwm24:

Forum downtime during the move should be about 2hrs so we'll call that 4 then :D .... computers!!! :crazy:

I'll announce when I know the exact time/date.

I've done a test move which went fine, so I'll move the forum in the morning. However the main problem will be the propigation of the new name server records, and the DNS update to point to the new VPS .......... WHOOSH .... the sound of that info going over Arthur's head :icon_lol:

Hopefully you lot won't notice anything different ;)
