We are off to the Philippines for 3 weeks on Friday. Have an Ipad 2 with Wifi/3G and wondering if there is an easy way to use the 3G while there. With Wifi we can go to a coffee shop or similar but are there any pay as you go type deals which would give us a data allowance and presumably a micro sim. If using a different microsim would the Ipad need to be registered again via Itunes on a PC?
Thanks for any suggestions

You can get pay as you go sims with 3G internet, just take a trip to a SMART or Globe shop. I'd be a little cautious flaunting an iPad in certain areas, may bring some unwanted trouble unfortunately.

As Ricky mentioned you can easily buy 3G sim for mobile internet, but................. and it's a really big but, depends where you will be located. Many areas of Manila has reasonable signal. Outside of Manila it's highly variable.
Inside of residential houses the signal is just about hopeless for internet.
Your best best is gonna be via WiFi when it's available. Again be extremely careful of security.
Also, be aware of your surroundings when using iPad.
I'm pretty sure that the micro sim for iPad is easily available. Most things are available in Pinas.

To make a micro sim you can cut a standard sim to size. Any self respecting Mobile Phone shop in the Uk or Pinas will be able to help you..
If you feel Brave http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cut+micro+sim+for+iphone+4&aq=0&oq=cut+micro
From my understanding your Itunes should be registered to you the user and your login. so for example xbec@ email.co.uk and your itunes password.
The provider you choose to go with I would ask to your family and friends who use 3G phones and let you know who has the best signal where you are intending to use.
You can also get a App which can help you to reduce the data you use http://www.macgazette.net/2463/app-week-onavo-save-money-iphone-ipad-data-plan-is-500mb-enough/
Depending on what and how you browse it can sometimes make a big difference although you need to be aware how it works and how it handles your data..
For example I would advise even though they are approved by Apple as in the app store I would switch off if banking or accessing data i wish to keep secure as i can...

I took my ipad to the PI without an issue but i would stick to wifi if i were you..
Smart or Globe are popular while Sun is the quickest normally for 3G and if you need to cut down the sim here is a free template..

You can get a Globe iPhone 4 Sim Card - get it loaded up when you go to a Globe store with a block 7 or 28 days credit and then just use it in your ipad. I must say having used this in my Ip4 (i bought mine in Boracay) the service was pretty poor but it gets you connected.
And as skinicuk says be careful when using it!
