I liked the comment that the UKIP leader made a few weeks ago, "Belgium, it's not even a proper country":laugher:
I haven't been to Belgium for a few years, but I've always liked it there. It's clean, modern and safe and reminds me of Amsterdam or Strasbourg, which are 2 of my favorite cities.

Brussels is a great place for a weekend break and you can get there in less than 2 hours by Eurostar.
Literally hundreds of nice hotels, restaurants and cafés all around the Grand Place (Grote Markt) surrounded by Baroque and Gothic architecture.

I like Strasbourg too, spent a lot of time around the area years ago.
I lived in the Alsace area for 2 years at small place called Turckheim (close to Colmar).
Now I'm reminded of the great regional wines, foods and cheese.

Strasbourg is a lovely city, I've only been once, but had a great 4 day break there on one of Ryanair's cheapie flight deals 7 or 8 yrs ago. It's a great combination of the Franco-German partnership working in harmony (unlike the EU:icon_lol:). The architecture is magnificent, and of course the beer, wine and food are great too. I remember the restaurants had a lot of German dishes that contained braised Bratwursts and cabbage, and I ate some very nice garlic and herb snails there:xxgrinning--00xx3:

3. You can brew drinks out of fruit, and still call it beer.
4. You are either
a. like the Dutch, just less efficient
b. like the French, just less romantic
c. like the Germans
5. Decent fries. Real mayonnaise. Great chocolate. The best beer.
6. No one knows anything about you, except for the Dutch and French and they make fun of you.
7. More scandals in a week than any other country in a decade.
8. You can drive like a maniac on the road and nobody cares
9. All your famous countrymen are either imaginary, or sex-offenders
10. Face it. It's not really a country, is it?
