As usual my wife will be working all over the Christmas and new year holidays.
She'll be trying to make sure all the old folks are looked after and enjoy themselves at this time of year.
(when their families are so busy):D
To be honest, she did volunteer. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Hardly compares with either Gwap's or Joe's missus's noble festive contributions to society ... but - for my "sins" :cwm24: - I'm on Church Door Duty :freezin: on January 1.

I'm on Church Door Duty :freezin: on January 1.
Given the time of year - not to mention there being a 'Hogmanay Ceilidh' :Kilt: in the Church Hall a mere few hours earlier - I suspect there'll be MORE Elders on Door Duty ... than there are likely to be worshippers    on the Sunday morning. :omg:

:yeahthat: Alas ... :bigcry: ... the only way Myrna & I could possibly attend this particular function, would be for us to spend the interval between 12.30 and ...10.30 am (for the 11 o'clock Service) :NEW5: :NEW5: in the draughty Kirk pews - since WE don't have "our own wheels" ... there are no busses running after 10.30 pm on New Year's Eve ... and I'm buggered if I'm stumping up the trebled taxi-fare + tip. :nono-1-1: NO way Hosea!

Alternatively, of course ... we COULD, I suppose, ask someone if they'd give us a *lift home :please: But that's too much like "begging" - which I ain't good at - and, you'd be astounded :yikes: if you only knew just how koripot some so~called "Kirky folk" can be in offering their services in *this respect.
