Hi, I am April and I just arrived here in Bedford last December 23 and I am very interested in meeting new friends here especially Filipinas. Aside from that, I am curious if there is any active organization or community for British wives here in Bedford because I would be very glad to be a member of it and see other British spouse in some occassions or gathering.
I am also a devoted Catholic and I want to know what church in Bedford that a fiipino organisation is active with?

hi april.
welcome to this friendly forum.
I'm from the west midlands but I've got friends from bedford. I have a filipino friend (couple) who lives in bedford. They live there long time. They are my nieghbours way back in Cebu & at the same time my elementary & HS classmate as well. For sure they can assist you as they go out with filipino friends & visiting friends for birthdays & special occassion. They also attend to filipino community gatherings.
U may find a lot for Pinays who works in the hospital & also by going to the church on sundays.
I you want I can add u in facebook & I will introduce u to her (thru fb) if that's okay with you.
Hope you are ok & settling down alright. It's been almost a month for you. Don't worry. You will meet a lot of Pinays soon. It's takes time to settle down & explore friends. Once you started to go out or work, u will meet a lot of our kababayans.
Happy New Year. Keep smiling!

Yes of course we could meet up. I am still in the Philippines and about to lodge my spouse visa app at the end of this month, hoping for the best and If I get it quickly I should be back in England early March :D Btw, I'm only 23 and I think I should be the one to call you ate? :icon_lol::D
I found your facebook account April, May I add you? :D

Hehehehe...I am only 21, turning 22 on April. Hehehehe..nevermind, you are not that old enought to be called ate. You were under fiancee visa before right? and you've been here already?...then why applying spousal visa there in the Phil?... Can you not apply it here in the UK?...I am just curious...

:yikes: Ah you are younger than me :icon_lol:. I have been there in England for tourist visa before, I had to return to Phils because ofcourse my visa was only valid for 6 months. My hubby came here in the Phils to marry me last oct 2011. Now we are about to lodge my spouse visa app. In your case as you came there for fiancee visa you won't need to go back to phils. You can apply for FLR after getting married.

Forgive my earlier :joke:, April! Allow me to extend to you, a very warm :welcomex: the UK - in particular, to this friendly site. Can't tell you much about Bedford, I'm afraid ... because it's a long, lo~ong way from where I live. However, I'm sure there are more than a few Filipinas in your locality. Places like churches tend to be focal points for meeting people ... which is ideal for devout Roman Catholics like yourself. Good luck in your quest. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Hi there April, and welcome to the forum.
I'm sure you'll have fun.
There are quite of lot of Filipinas in and around Bedford. Just take you time to search around your area especially near hospitals, care homes and importantly local Catholic churches.
