After two years away, I'm back...hehehe thank goodness for only two weeks more.. Living in Leyte has opened my eyes to the joys of life, I'm 62, got two 19 yo. gf's, and a brilliant motorbike and 20 years added on to my life span. Most of the stuff I read and digested before I went out was thrown out of the window as soon as I settled in. The ex.Pats took me under their wings and briefed me about what it's really like living in the Phillipines. Flying cockroaches that can bite you, Centipedes that can bite you, bats that do attack you (I can vouch for that) and beautiful sea anenomones (cannot spell that one) that if you step on will give you agonizing pain for ages.. Hmm Pedophiles casually hanging around the bars (Cebu) and everyone trying to rip you off whenever you go into a Government office, luckily I'm from Yorkshire and my stock answer became "Lyas" to any attempt at a bribe..On the other hand...The Girls are amongst the most beautiful in the world. Just steer clear of the Bar girls wanting somebody to take care of them.. The best tip I can give anyone wanting to meet a lovely girl is...get out there and go somewhere for a coffee, or take a trip into a barangay, Smile and talk to them..you will be surprised how easy going they are ( but don't ever expect Sex straight away) that's a no-no. If your none religious like I am (don't believe any thing about it) your in for a hard time..the catholic church owns the Place (even Priest and Nuns there have wives, bf's) I kid you not !! our neighbor is a Priest and he's got 2 kids..and I've had a close friendship with a lovely Nun..hehehe. Another interesting fact is...more than 15% of Pinoy girls suffer from Bi-Polar (whatever that is) and lots of ex-pats have found out, it's not nice to have a buang gf....I cannot wait to get back..I've now turned into the Godfather of Maasin amongst the ex-pats,,,hehehe for the first time in my life, I'm looked up to... And an answer to a thread I read...RENT, don't buy straight away..you cannot own the land, and also don't be conned by any official into buying a balikbyan visa from them...you'll go to prison...fact !! and here another thought, (verified by my brother in law who is a NBI police man) at least 30 westerners go home every year in Bodybags !! nobody tells you about that one...One good thing though about being a westerner, the police tend to leave you alone...too much paperwork, and the majority of them cannot write..hehehe...Believe me..it is a Great place to start a new adventuresome life..I'm loving it....oh and another thing....the girls all think Englishmen are the best lovers...hehehe well the seven I've had did....Go and enjoy it, I know you will...PS. Keep away from Limasawa, it's a bloody awful place...no electricity...my ipad never worked there...
