You're right Steve but we are ripped off massively with the Air Passenger Duty - I suppose the 2 level (Domestic & International) Passenger Terminal Fee is the Pinoy version.
I remember exiting East Germany through Checkpoint Charlie and being relieved of all my OstMarks

Departing the Philippines via cebu last May was 400 peso, i departed via Cebu beginning of November and it was 550 peso. Not going down everywhere i see.

The re introduction of the P200 fee is to pay for the makeover of NAIA which carries the accolade of worlds worst airport. From April there will be no European carrier serving Manila. The airlines are required to pay for the overtime of Immigration and customs staff, also fund the printing of the embarcation card and are subject to other charges.
It is utterly incredible to hear the secretary of tourism (who thinks that marketing the country is as easy as selling chickenjoy)declare that the country will achieve 10 million tourists arrivals by 2016 (up from present 3.5m)
Its more fun in Philippines.....certainly more funds

I have no idea whether this secretary really means what he says but I sincerely hope that it works as I see it as a way that the country can start to lift many people out of poverty.
