Hi I heard well I read in some threads that someone already had a VISA but wasn't allowed to get through while in UK airport already because they checked the bank account or the money atm etc and the she has only 30,000 pesos in her account....

Is this true? Are they really gonna do that? check your accounts?

Coz seriously we already used our money here in Philippines my husband has been here for more than 2 months and we gonna use it to buy ticket so basically what I will have left is almost the same as that woman's 30k......

Is that really gonna happen? They will check your money and will not let you through?

I went through with my wife at Manchester airport and they hardly checked a thing. They checked her passport, her visa and asked her if she intended to work in the UK. They saw that I was with her as I went through the same channel. That was essentially it.

YOU don't need to have a single centavo if arriving on a Fiancee or Spouse visa.

Your SPONSOR is the one who's finances need to be sufficient to support you both....and strictly speaking that doesn't have to include savings, just a regular UK income.

Maybe someone is getting confused with Tourist/Visitor visa ? :Erm:

I asked this question before but didn't get any response.....My partner and I (aussie) want to have a break and have a holiday in the mother land.......How hard would it be for her to get a tourist/visitor visa.......We will be travelling together......Does she have to show her bank details....Both of us have nothing in England....I have relatives now living Norwich who we will visit.....If its too much of a hassle we will have look somewhere else.....We hope not as she wants to see where it all started.

Would like to hear how difficult it would be for her to obtain a tourist visa?

Hi brokenpieces, If I recall correctly you will be on an EEA family permit. In which case neither you nor your sponsor needs to prove you have any money at all. Finances are not a requirement on that route.

Maybe she/he is using a visitor visa . I watched a program in England last year about UK Boarder Agency and loads of people were declined from entering the UK even they arrived the airport specially people who are carrying visitor visa. They will just check your accounts if they think that you cannot provide food, shelter or any important things that you need while staying in the UK. One of the rules in carrying a visit visa is NO WORK or RECOURSE TO PUBLIC FUND which you can find that in your visa under your PERSONAL details. I, myself used a visitor visa but with the sponsorship letter of my friend (who became as my boyfriend) as a supporting document.
