Today I went for my appointment to get my CNI, I have to wait 21 days before I can pick it up. I am wondering about my Cenomar now. Do I apply for a Cenomar along with my fiancée Cenomar at the NSO? And can I get them both delivered to my fiancée address?
I pursume that a Cenomar for me in the Philippines in to show I have not been married in the Philippines before?
The CNI shows I am single according to the uk.

I had my Cenomar delivered to my girlfriends address (as she was then) in the Philippines. I ordered it online. But we never used my Cenomar as part of the process for getting married in Paranaquay City. Not a requirement for us back in June. We just presented my local CNI from the embassy and my decree nisi (divorce papers) for the purposes of a civil wedding.
We ordered my girlfriends Cenomar online and had it posted to her address.
PS I thought the Cenomar itself was a bit of a joke as they just took my word for it that I was divorced.

I just want to cover every angle so I will get on for myself. I was going to apply for one for me at NSO as well, even though I am not Filipino and they will not have any record of me there.

Why did we apply for a Cenomar for me, you might ask. The answer was simply that we were not initially aware of the need to get one in the UK and exchange at the Manila embassy etc, so it was by mistake. It was at this stage that we discovered how difficult it was to get married and bring my wife back to the UK. I really had no idea to start with :icon_lol:
The Cenomar wasn't completetly wasted as we banged it in with our visa application with all of our other evidence of our relationship.
I understand what you mean about covering all angles.

I applied for mine at the same time as hers, not sure it was actually needed but 'covering all angles' is a good thing todo here with regard to officialdom. P400 or whatever is good insurance.

Ultimately we had our Philippine marriage organised through an agent so we just did as the agent instructed. It took some of the uncertainty out of the marriage preparation - went very smoothly. We used someone that my wife's family had used before - 2 cousins that married Koreans. It was the agent that first alerted me to the CNI requirement and the exchange at the embassy. I had no idea until then.

I myself was very naive about the whole process until I joined this site. It has helped me so much and I know it will keep helping me for many years in the future.
Just the appointment to get my CNI was bad enough. I have to double check every spelling of names and address even though I know then off by heart.

When my husband and I got married back in 2009. He just show his CNI and it is acceptable. I was the one who provided them CENOMAR. I am not sure with their new requirements.

Hello Rory, yes you do need your CENOMAR together with your CNI.it's one of the requirements to convert your UK issued CNI to local CNI.you can get CENOMAR online or let your fiancee get it from any NSO office.
