Small fishers urge big to join fight vs. oil price hike

"MANILA, Philippines- Small-scale fisherfolk alliance Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (Pamalakaya) today asked commercial fishing operators all-over the country to coalesce with them against unabated increases in the prices of oil products. “Please join us in the people’s fight against oil price increases. Just like us, you are also affected by the unbridled hikes in the prices petroleum products. We know that 65 percent of production cost of local commercial fishing operators goes to fuel and that is economically fatal to your fishing operations,”
