The Venezuela one is probaly a failure due to the wonderful secure way Columbia run their airline
The Cypriot one is a little weird. The plane decompressed for 2 hours, so it was -50 on board. You can't survive that, especially as they'd all be in Summer clothes, and as far as I know, the oxygen does not supply 2hrs worth.
As soon as you have any decompression all the alarms go off in the cockpit, you take off the auto pilot, and slam it into a nose dive. Takes less than 2 mins to get down to 10,000 ft, the safety zone.
If the pilots are dead, just turn the autopilot dial to the left till it changes to 10,000, this will take around 20 mins to get to safety, but at least is doing something, and yet no one managed to do anything!!!! ;)
