A PASTOR has branded Britain's immigration system "hypocritical" for allowing Islamic militants to remain in the country but stopping a Commonwealth war veteran from moving here to be with family.

well he's not British, and i suppose he doesn't qualify for a dependent visa..

To qualify to have your relatives join you in the United Kingdom, you must currently live in the United Kingdom and be settled here with no time limit on your stay. Your relative must show that:

~he/she is completely, or mainly, financially dependent on you;
~he/she does not have any other close relatives in his/her own country who can support him/her financially;
~and you have enough money to support and accommodate him/her without help from public funds

but even still :NoNo:

No chance.

Australia is governed by the same type of bleeding heart, handwringing liberal elite as us. If the hypothetical Grandad was of Leb or Greek ethnicity he would be allowed in much the same way as the UK would freely admit one from the indian subcontinent

there should be room to allow application on compassionate grounds, where someone like him who has his pension, does not need resorce to public funds,

surley there ought to be allowance to consideration in such cases,

its a crazy situation when we get all the scum comming here but cant send them back,,, what is wrong with this system:NoNo:

Common sense Stewart...common sense.

Something that is no longer factored into the system. :rolleyes:
