Hello everyone:Wave:
My story is simple: I went to the Philippinnes in January of this year and met the girl I want to spend my life with:) Im back here in the UK after a 2 week holiday there, we have been in contact every day since and we are making the necessary arrangments to be together here in the UK.
But, oh my god it isnt easy:( This is the main reason I have joined this forum to get all the advice and help I possibly can so we can get our Visa and start our lives together.
Im 36 and live in Somerset, never been married and have no children. My beautiful wife to be is Zuzy, she is 21 and lives in Basay, Negros.

We were thinking of using an agent in Cebu that specialises in Fiance visa's...I plan another vist as soon as I can and I will take all the relative paperwork with me and leave it all with Zuzy, e-mail a copy of my passport when I return to Zuzy and then we can arrange to give all the documents to the agent in cebu.
Im not sure if this is a good route? but being apart from each other is hell :(

So it does sorry for my oversight no offence intended.
Your story reminds me of my own when in september 2010 me & my now wife were married in the Phils...My wife arrived here in the uk with me in November 2010. But the procedure of bringing your'e wife/fiance to the uk is a lot more difficult now & set to get even more difficult with new rules set to be implemented....Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but i wish you all the best with your future visa journey. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Welcome Nathan, where in Somerset are you from?
Being away from eachother is certainly hell, almost all of us here know that feeling very well, it saddens me every time I leave my family behind. But with everyone's help and experience I am sure they can help youget over any problems you might find.

Hello Nathan, welcome here to the forum.
You'll find plenty of good information here.

Hi Steve, Im in the Taunton area.
Yes, we speak twice a day and text each other every day but so expensive! I must spend £30+ a week on loading my phone and her phone...Not sure if there is a better way to stay in contact? I use Lebara moblile and I also send her a load to her smart mobile via the internet.
She dosnt have internet access at her house but she does go to her aunties to use the internet and we chat on facebook once or twice a week.

It can get pricey talking on the phone. If she has a smart phone and wi-fi at her Aunt's place then use an app called Viber, it is free to talk, sms or send photos, same as Yahoo or Skype I suppose, but we use Viber. It saves a packet. There are some sim cards that you can get that are slightly cheaper calls, but unfortunately, this is a burden we all share too. You can of course, if you are really going to make a go of this relationship (and I am being realistic here, sometimes people get scammed or the distance is just too far) but get her a laptop and and internet contract from Smart or Globe. I pay about 1000 peso a month for our internet in Phils, so we can talk all the time on the webcam or on an app on the phone.
Well worth the investment. Others will have suggestions on this I am sure.
I know the area well, I used to go shopping there and frequent the motorbike shops there. I'm a recent ex-biker now, I have a wife and son instead :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Welcome to the forum Nathan. :xxgrinning--00xx3:
I don't phone much (I use Facebook and Skype), but when I do I use 0871 881 7777 from my landline....then when they answer, dial in your fiancee's number.
7p a minute.

hi nathan and welcome to this forum...people here are very friendly .. like you, i have questions and they have helped me a lot in sorting out our docs... even if i am not asking directly from the moderators and the members, reading threads will give you general idea of how the process goes...
if you have direct questions , you can address them and all the guys here will be more than happy to help you..
steve is right... internet connection ( approximately 1000 peso a month ) and a simple laptop ( notebook like acer one around 14000) will be a better option instead of calling thru phone...skype will be a great program..not only hearing her voice but at the same time seing her thru webcam... 24 hr communication is possible thru this...:D
good luck...

Thanks for all the info and help, Yes for 1000PHP a month it may well be worth getting her internet.....I spend that a week loading her phone at the moment!!:doh
Ahh, bikes...I have a Buell, I have had plenty of bikes over the years but the Buell Lightning is the best I have ever had, shortly after buying it Harley closed the factory down and ended production!
If, I ever get Zuzy here and we have kids, I will become an ex-biker like you as I feel biking will be the last thing on my mind.:)
