Not sure if this has been covered already and yes it makes depressing news, but to be forewarned is to be forearmed, as they say.

"Already it is not uncommon for EU passengers to spend more than an hour to clear checkpoints staffed by the UK Border Agency.

It will be alright lastlid. Last year when I arrived in UK it was also the same time when the Border employeeswere on strike. Luckily, I didn't wait for hours.

I went through with my wife, in October and it took about 20 minutes to queue and all of 3 minutes to process.

I'll be flying into Manchester at the end of July and then back mid August with family in tow! Middle of the Olympics, bah humbug, really hope we don't end up waiting for hours at immigration.

i made the mistake of going thru first and waited behind the immigration counter for my misses to come thru, some jobs worth told me to move thru the exit door, told them i was waiting for my wife (just incase there was any problems), after a bit of a :furious3: i was threatened with him getting security , its the closest i've come to hitting someone in a very long time :cwm3:
