Thank you imagine, juvyjones, stevie c & Terpe for the warm welcome, much appreciated. Double thanks to Terpe for the in depth visa info link. You're a star :-) I've clued myself up reasonably well to date but it really helps to have it all in one place to refer to.

Juvy, You're in Surrey too! I'm near Redhill where are you?

Ate we live in Dorking, my hubby said Redhill is 10-15 mins drive from where we live :D I used to collect for charity in Redhill back in 2009 so I'm quite familiar with the place.

Hello Mick, thanks for that.

Juvy, you're about 7 miles from me. Tried to find PM function to give you email address & phone number if you wanted to meet up sometime but couldn't do it.

Do you know many Filipino/Filipina's here? My sister in law is from Pampanga, she's been here 4yrs now & has lots of Filipina friends.
My son met his wife there last year & we're about to go through the visa application for his wife & stepchild. The thought that their future depends on people who don't even know them fills me with dread but please God all will go well & they can be together again.

Rosa.

Hi Rosa, welcome to the forum:Wave:

Unfortunately, new members are unable to use the PM facility until they become respected members due to some abuse by a minority in the past. If you want to leave someone a message, the best way at the moment is to leave it on their profile.

Good luck with the visa applications, it can be a very daunting time but there is lots of help and guidance here if you need it. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

:welcomex: to the filipino/uk forum, Rosa. I'm truly delighted :BouncyHappy: to see you've already been greeted by one of our regular Filipina members, juvyjones, who recently moved permanently to the UK to be with her husband in Surrey. Your son and daughter-in-law might like to consider joining our ranks also; they'd be most welcome. :)

Thank you Miss Taurus, Rosie1958, bigmarco, Arthur Little & chieldave....don't think I left anyone out did I ?

Rosie, thanks for the good wishes & the info on how things work. Much appreciated.

Appreciate your good wishes to the newlyweds Arthur & will pass them on. I'm happy that juvyjones & her hubby are now together & I must apologise for assuming that being local to one another that she'd want to meet up! Poor girl doesn't even know me.... Sorry juvy :)

davechiel, thanks for the re-assurance & reminder to stay positive! I won't go into detail just now but much of the visa process falls to me & wears me down a little.

Take care all.

Rosa.

You can leave your ym or facebook account info on my profile so I can contact you. Your also welcome to visit us at home if you like and we can cook some nice filipino dish. And yes I know a lot of filipina but not around here, There's a lot of filipina/filipino in London, I regularly meet them when I attend church services in Battersea and Sutton. Thanks Donah. The forum already helped me, & just in the nick of time too! We didn't know online application had to be completed within 10 days nor that the English language cert can take weeks to be issued. We were literally about to start the application when I thought I'd try & find some reference to it on this forum. Thank God I did!

On a totally different subject, can anyone tell me why my access is so restricted I can't even access my own profile?

Thanks in advance :)

Rosa.

Rosa.

Sorry for the confusion Rosa,
Forum security automatically imposes restrictions for new members with a post count of 15 or less.
Also, posts are put into moderation queue for review and checking. Which is why you may sometimes notice a delay between posting and that post appearing in the main forum.

Your access will improve and restrictions will be lifted one you reach 16 post count.

Just keep posting, you're nearly there.
