Good day everyone!
It's been nearly 3 weeks after I lodged my Fiance Visa application...still no update my the embassy. The last email I received was saying that my visa application is under process at the British Embassy. I feel nervous each day. As far as I know, I submitted all the necessary documents. But why is it taking long? Are there the same applicants who are waiting for their visa result here?

It seems to vary a lot and can of course take up to 3 months. I am not totally sure if there is any real reason for some taking longer than others. I used to think it was because they were diligently looking through more complicated cases but I have begun to think not. Simply, if yours is the one that's picked out early then yours gets dealt with first, kind of thing. Oh to be a fly on the wall in an ECO's office. My wife's friend's Fiancee visa took just over a week and she got the visa yesterday and hers was a complex application....

That's a good news from your wife's friend. I just hope that we can hear good news from the Embassy regarding my visa application soon as I put next week on the visa form as my intended travel date. Will there be a problem if the visa result come later than the intended travel date?

Hi Gretta, I have to admit I am not certain of the answer there. But there will be some on the forum that will know. As far as I can make out they don't dispatch visas with old dates on.....but I am not certain.
In our case we got the visa just about the time of our submitted intended travel date, slightly beforehand. Bear in mind that you aren't committed to travelling on your intended travel date, that is just a guide for them. My wife travelled a good 2 weeks after both her visa date and her intended travel date.
See what Terpe says. He will be up and about soon.

BTW I have a theory that ones submitted intended travel date can influence when they process the visa applications. I have a sneaky suspicion that may have happened in our case. So maybe you will hear soon. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

took us one month towards the end of last year to obtain the fiance visa and after a three week wait i sent them an e mail asking why the delay. They didnt have the courtesy to answer the mail but a few days later the visa was issued so the waiting wasnt too bad but does of course cause a lot of anxiety, worry and frustration.
Lets hope you hear some positive news soon and keep us all advised of the outcome. :)

Sorry to say this, but stating an early intended date of travel does not expedite visa decisions.
Some people want to delay travel by up to the maximum 3 months for one reason or another and this is usually accepted.
In your case there will be no problem. UKBA will likely take the view that you wish to travel asap and will issue the validity accordingly.
As others here have reported that's not always wanted as it just eats into the fiancee visa validity of 6 months.
UKBA advise not to make any confirmed travel plans until visa approval.
Fingers crossed for a speedy outcome :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Hi everyone..I lodge my settlement visa last month March 19,2012. But until now still under process at the British High Commission. Me & my husband, we decided to put on the travel date July 19, 2012 becoz of his holiday at work. I hope it is not the reason why my visa is delayed. We are hoping a good result soon.
Goodluck to us.....:)

It took my wife 3 days to get her visa.
How some visas can be issued in days yet some visas take months to get issued is beyond me :NoNo:

in my application i never mentioned any travel date, didnt know i needed to put one. Lodged my application May 2011 and got my visa in less than 2 weeks. Courier took awhile because there was a typhoon at that time.
Because of Holy week that maybe the reason for the delay, hopefully you will hear from the ECO soon and get your visa.. crossing fingers :xxgrinning--00xx3:
