View Full Version : A voice from the graveyard

It’s quiet There. Quiet as the grave. There’s not a sound. No response. Little movement. But what d’you expect in the graveyard? In fact since the start of the year there have been only nine visits, two of these from me. In its whole history there has been only a modest attendance.

What I’m writing about is the BLOG. There have been so few posts since that area first opened. Writers like to communicate, to shout, call out or nudge and whisper. But whatever the volume and whatever the message they send out, they want to be read. But does anyone read the BLOG section? Okay, some do but my bet it is not very many. Not like INTRODUCE YOURSELF whence I was expelled last week. I liked it here. I was comfortable here. In three weeks there’d been 3000 hits on A VIRGIN IN THE PHILIPPINES. Then I was unceremoniously bundled out into the graveyard. I understand the reason but I feel cut off. It’s so lonely, so quiet.

Furthermore I wasn’t able to tell you that for a limited period there were free copies of my ebook if you applied directly to me on my website which is available on this site. That offer is still open.

Anyway, I’ve had my gripe. Maybe if I’m allowed I can have it published not solely in the graveyard but back here in the place where I felt more comfortable.

Johnnie.. Here`s my suggestion.
If you have a new addition then select a category that you feel its appropriate for and a post your new thread there..
People usually click the "Whats new button" to read the latest posts and new threads.. That way it will be more visible and you may get more response. Just try to name the thread with an individual title.
For example.. You could post it in ..."Culture, Food & Recipes (http://filipinaroses.com/forumdisplay.php/9-Culture-Food-amp-Recipes)" Or..

Loose Talk, Chat and Off Topic (http://filipinaroses.com/forumdisplay.php/49-Loose-Talk-Chat-and-Off-Topic) or Living in the Philippines (http://filipinaroses.com/forumdisplay.php/49-Loose-Talk-Chat-and-Off-Topic)

etc etc..
You can also add your post to you blog to give it continuity for those that read it there..
Hope that makes sense.

Also please do post your thoughts and comments in other peoples threads.. It will help you to get to know the locals here, many who are very knowledgeable and interesting characters..
After all...Fair is fair!!

Cheers,

Fred.

Thanks, Fred, for the measuredcomment.I'll try to follow the suggestions though as you may recall I do become confused with all of the different boxes etc.
Anyway, I'm heartened. You didn't seem to think my gripe was totally unreasonable.
