Just to give a balance to the story, I landed Heathrow on Wednesday night 20.30 and was a touch concerned from all the reports I wouldnt be able to catch the last available tube (departing 22.09) to connect with the Leeds train.

I actually cleared Immigration, baggage and customs by 20.50.....and caught the 21.09 so plenty of time.

Obviously a UK passport holder but somethings arent always as they are reported.

Yes its amazing that if you pay the exhorbitant £800+ fee for a personal appearance they can basically do it while u wait, but it the mail it can take months even though the fee for postal applications is hardly cheap and it causes so much anxiety whilst the laborious process grinds away :doh

It's not about the UK/EU passport holder desks though . :)

Those from Romania and other scum nations can waltz through in minutes, just as you did.

Poor little Filipinas with settlement visas who may have been travelling for a couple of days are the ones treated like pieces of :censored:.

Yep...I recommend everyone buys tickets for their ladies to enter using nearest regional airport.

Sod Heathrow.

I remember coming into Leeds/Bradford one time at about 2 in the morning....no customs. No anybody. :icon_lol:

1 hour 30 mins from York train station right into the airport at Manchester.:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Also £4 cheaper buying the return ticket at the station on the day than buying so-called cheaper on-line.
