These things are unlicensed and are a nuisance. They seem to be monopolised by Eastern Europeans now and they cause chaos on the streets of the West End. There should be a joint purge in the West End by UKBA and HMRC they would have a field day.

Seconded - another cash only tax avoidance operation for the EE's. The other thing the authorities should clamp down on is their cars I'm sure 90% are uninsured so should be seized and crushed.

I thought it already was? I may be confusing that with all the other new events.
Always wondered why events like tennis were allowed played by professional tennis players..
Always thought it was amateurs only?

Fred, as you know...like everything else, it's all about the money.

Sport is what kids used to do at school.

What hacks me off about these Olympics is the massive disruption it will cause to millions like me with no interest whatsoever in these minority sports - last night I was on the A308 Runneymede/Staines area near to J12 of the M25. There is a temporary sign gone up "Olympic Route Restrictions Apply" it seems that Royal Holloway College/University of London Egham is going to be used as accomodation for the rowers who will compete some 6 or so miles away at the Eton College Rowing Lake. Ba$tards :cwm23:

Do we call the 100 meters sprint a minority sport? :Erm:

I feel the same way Dedworth, but thank goodness we're well out of the way of it all up here.

A few people will be getting minted as usual, and we're expected to be happy that 10 billion or whatever of our taxes is being used to show-off to the rest of the world, who couldn't give a toss about Britain's image in the world of sport anyway (or probably in anything else for that matter).
