Its good to see the law being enforced. It seems that so often the laws are in place but aren't actually enforced.

Agreed, great to see an actual prosecution although it was with the Philippines' usual speed.

Dont know the circumstances but....It could be that the farmer was an uneducated man and honestly didnt know the bird was endangered. If he was hungry and poor, of which there are many, then a $100,000 peso fine would seem unfair.

I know that environmentally there are a lot of positive moves to try and raise awareness across the board in the Philippines......but I imagine its a big task, yet to be fully realised.
