Wouldn't want to tackle the streets of the Phils in it. :cwm24:
A seat might be a useful addition too :icon_lol:...and a chain guard.
Good luck to them though.

I am sure a chain guard etc and a few niceties could be added. Would need to add some pedals for when the clouds were out...:icon_lol: but surely the future for a country like the Philippines.....:xxgrinning--00xx3:
The battery housing could be converted into a seat....

Yes, with all that extra weight to make it a viable vehicle....just need ANOTHER battery and ANOTHER solar panel.
Oops...more weight. :doh :D

We used to think the world was flat.....seems the Philippines is at the forefront of this technology....

These are just college projects and playthings though.
What is needed is something that is practical and cost-efficient on a day to day basis...not just eco-friendly, otherwise we'd all be using roller skates.
I'm currently working along these lines with my old sofa....:D

Eventually we might have no choice but to use alternative sources of energy.....necessity is the mother of invention. Many successful inventions started off as "college (university) projects" or playthings, thats one of the functions of colleges / universities....
I agree that at this stage, solar powered car technology is a little raw and in its infancy but given time etc....

Let's hope so.
No shortage of sun in the Philippines anyway. :)

Yes indeed.
Plenty of surface area there though (as on those feather-light planes).
Still, a most interesting field of development.
I wasn't poo pooing the work done at Universities and I agree that some fantastic R & D projects and creative innovations come out of them.
I just have a feeling that for road vehicles someone is going to come up with something rather different (and more compact) though. :)

I actually thought there might be room for development at the budget end of the car market, in the Philippines. The new tricycle...sort of thing. Maybe.

A few years back I bought plans for a Hovercraft that I was going to build in the Philippines. :D
...Got side-tracked into rabbit-farming there instead. :NoNo:

Could do with a Hovercraft service here between Isle of Man and the UK mainland. The ferries are soooo slow.

Maybe fuel costs are too high now.
I'm assuming that's why they stopped those brilliant Dover-Calais ones ? :Erm:
The superb inter-island links in Hong Kong always used to amaze and impress me. Cheap too.

Pay attention to the assembly instructions when you order a flat-pack vehicle though. :Erm:

Reminds me of when I was a kid and I made a 'Trolley'/Go-Cart by putting a set of pram wheels under a big heavy sideboard. I called it 'The Stagecoach'.
I had to sit inside it and hold one of the doors open with one leg out, pushing myself down the street.
It embarrasses me to think about it.
:laugher:
Kids have no shame. :D

How did you see where you were going?

I'd cut a hole in the front, but visibility was rather 'restricted'. :)
Still, I think if I'd hit anyone they would have come off worse. :D
