I respect the religion and customs of this persons country but I also respect the need for removing such garments for security purposes in our own country.

I recall 3 such women going through security checks at Manchester airport and were not asked to remove their veil. I was so amazed at the time.....

2nd time I've recently read about this at UK Airports - I'd have called the Police over and demanded an explanation

This was about 4 or 5 years ago. As one passes through, our photographs are taken. So was theirs but with the veil on. :icon_lol:

YES.....................................4 months ago.........

as David Jones passed through airport security, his thoughts were turning to lunch with his daughters, who were already ‘airside’.

I think we should take a lead from France when it comes to all this head gear in schools, they dont entertain it. Instead we let the :censored: dictate. I'm surprised the college adopted this attitude. 21st century Britain is normally to frightened to make such a request. Normal policy in most colleges would be to arrange for Translators for the parents and make sure their is a prayer room available. :cwm23:

I'm sure there are plenty of schools in Pakistan where she wouldn't have a problem if she was veiled up

I am not sure where her roots lay but this kind of headgear is more in keeping with the Arabic world.....

15/20 years ago the only veiled women you saw were a few Sheikhs wives coming off the Saudi flights at Heathrow and they would soon dispense with them when in the West End. The vastly increased number of veils nowadays are worn by Pakistani women as a sign of their contempt for British Society and their subservience to extremist husbands

That's what many like about the island. It has both benefits and drawbacks though.
