"What fuels change? Determination? Strength in character? Self-sacrifice?

Passionate believers pursue change with dogged perseverance. They are those who believe that their fellow countrymen are capable of achieving excellence. They rise despite adversity and failure, and treat every fall as another step toward a much bigger goal. It is their faith in their community and country that keep them strong as they continue to shape and change our society for the better.

Above all, a passionate believer is a leader and advocate who inspires others to chime in and join their cause.

For these reasons, we pay tribute to five remarkable women who continue to remind us that change is possible:

CHECHE LAZARO: Pillar of Integrity
ANNA OPOSA: Ambassador of the Seas
DITSI CAROLINO: Hope of the Forgotten
ALIAH DIMAPORO: Trailblazing Leader
MARIA MONTELIBANO: Herald of Good News"

I've always admired the Pinoy national pride and passion.
Like many SE Asian countries the Philippines is a rather homogenous population and that helps.

Just my opinion. No offence intended.

"Innovative, stronghearted and compassionate. These qualities mark our Pinay & Proud Nation-Builders who seek the solutions for our country's social problems. This generation's local heroes fearlessly address the challenges brought about by poverty and social injustice by taking it on and using their gifts to help solve them. They help bridge the gap between social classes, building a culture for a Philippines that is all-inclusive, a nation of bayanihan, a country that every Filipino can be proud of."
