I'm planning to visit my mahal in the Philippines this coming October and was wondering if anyone who's been what vaccinations to take before I travel?
I know about malaria but would like to know of anymore vaccinations to take.
Thanks in advance :)

Your local GP can advise on this. I have travelled all over the world, for may years, to all sorts of places and I have always gone with what my GP has advised. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

As lastlid says, you can get a free consultation on the NHS, mine was with a nurse in the local GP surgery.
Some of the injections cost.
The malaria tablets were cheapest from the pharmacy in a big supermarket.

Of course everyone should visit their doctor ( GP ) or practice nurse 2 -3 months before a trip abroad, especially a long haul flight. They have your health record including vaccination schedule. However, with respect, they won't, in a ten minute consultation, give any more detailed advice than can be obtained from reliable internet sites to which they themselves will refer. The Philippines is not a destination with which most heath professionals are familiar, and they can’t be expected to give the detail provided on this forum by myself and others.
There are still no vaccines available for either malaria or dengue. The problem with malaria is that it’s a parasite, and dengue that there are four different virus types. However, the hope is that vaccines for both will be available in the next three years ( http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/06/05/us-dengue-vaccine-idUSBRE8541C320120605 ).
Unlike the situation with dengue, there are specific drugs for malaria. But the decision as to whether drugs should be taken rests with the individual and where exactly they intend to travel. Partly because the drugs need to be paid for, and partly because of drug resistance, it’s important to choose the right ones. Price should not be the only factor – up to a third of antimalarials on sale around the world - including South East Asia - are fake ( http://www.thelancet.com/journals/laninf/article/PIIS1473-3099(12)70064-6/abstract ). The NHS will treat – for free - those unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with malaria on return to the UK.
Rabies – also dealt with on the forum ( http://filipinaroses.com/showthread.php/38723-Rabies?highlight=rabies ) – does have an effective vaccine, available on private prescription from GP practices or travel centres ( around £ 100 – 150 ). Pre-exposure immunisation is not routinely recommended for the Philippines, but again it depends on where, and for how long, you’re intending to visit.
