Hello all,

My name is Grahame and I have recently moved back to the UK after 10 years in Asia. With me are my Filipina wife of 6 years, Trixie, and our two boys, Alex and John (ages 5 and 3). We are living just outside Ringwood not for from Bournemouth and Poole and are struggling to come to terms with this non-Summer we are having.

If there are any fellow members in the area, we would love to meet up. As you would expect, my wife is finding the adjustment hard and needs to meet some fellow countrymen/women to help her settle.

Looking forward to making new friends here.

All the best,
Grahame.

:Hellooo: Hi Grahame, welcome aboard.

It always takes time to adjust to different cultures, foods and environments.
Friends for outings and communications always helps.

There will soon be a Barrio Fiesta in your area. Hopefully the weather will improve

There's sure to be plenty of people from your area. I do know there are quite a few Filipino's living in Bournemouth.

Actually my wife is just now trying to arrange some leave for that weekend. If she's OK we plan to make along weekend at Lancing.

If it all works out we hope to link up with some friends too.
If you plan to go we can meet up

I am in Poole every day for work, but my wife is still in Phils or we could meet up. Like Terpe says, there are many in and around Poole Bournemouth. I see a few each time I am in the town.

Welcome back to a chilly summer :)

Thanks for the comments guys. We went down to Bournemouth beach on Sunday and I overheard some people speaking Tagalog so went and introduced myself. Very nice people but they were not local, being on a day trip from Banbury. At least my wife got to meet some Filipinos that have managed to settle here successfully. It may seem odd just walking up to strangers, but with Filipinos I have never once found it to be an issue!

Brighton in August sounds like a good plan.

Maybe nearer the time we can make some arrangements.

Anyway, thanks again.

Grahame.
