No ... not the 1970s rock band (given Freddie Mercury's long-dead anyway!) but the Monarch herself, accompanied by her 91-year-old Consort - smiling benignly and, to all intents and purposes, in the peak of condition - despite his fairly recent health scare. Obviously the pure Scottish air is more to his liking than drifting down the River Thames on a barge. :D
And (if you'll excuse [yet another] pun!) to crown the event, Myrna & I had a great view as the Royal car - preceded by a contingent of mounted police - glided sedately along Tay Street on the waterfront ... past the Bridge she and the Duke had unveiled more than half a century previously ... en route to the Council Chambers where she was being presented with the "key" to the recently re-established city & mediaval Scottish Capital.
Yes ... the 'Fair City' lived up to its name - and the sun shone :sunshine: as the cheering crowds greeted their Sovereign Lady with a rousing rendition of the National Anthem.
