On 5 July the Independent Chief Inspector for borders and immigration, John Vine, published an inspection report into the Hampshire and Isle of Wight local immigration team.

The UK Border Agency welcomes the Chief Inspector's report and in particular his findings about exceeding our targets for removals and praising the professionalism of our enforcement teams. We have accepted the report's recommendations and are planning how to implement them.

I think there's a bit of a PR exercise going on at the moment as there seems to be alot of good news stories about UKBA and their operations at the moment. Still perhaps a little bit of credit where it's due as they have had a bit of a bashing this year.
