I am new here , found this site very helpful and interesting. I was planning to get my fiancee visa soon. So, i really need your help. My marriage been annulled recently. I have been waiting for it for over two years now and I thought I could finally move to next step. I have been in a relationship with my British boyfriend for nearly 4 years now. I first attempted to get a visa to visit him 2010 but that was denied. I was hoping that this time I would succeed in getting a fiancee visa granted. We have recently heard of the new minimum salary requirements and we cannot see a way he can earn £18' 600 per annum. Now, we are facing another problem, don't know what to do ..

As it stands right now, without savings significantly above £16000, unless your b/f can find ways to build up his gross income to meet the required level of £18600 then any application would be refused.
He may even need to consider seeking new employment or taking up some extra part time work.

There are other options such as working within the EU but outside the UK.

There are quite a number of threads on this subject. Perhaps a search of the forum might also throw up some other ideas.

It's also possible that a number of legal cases will be presented to the courts and that the legal rulings may result in some lower income requirements.

It's still very early days under the new immigration rules. But watch this space. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Good luck.

I would suggest you review UKBA Statement Of Intent (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/documents/news/soi-fam-mig.pdf)

It provides useful examples and clear charts etc

Hello and welcome

Try not to lose heart over this new income thing. As already said, it is early days, and really no-one knows if this will last.
There may also be ways of your b/f building his salary up. It's all to play for :xxgrinning--00xx3:
