Applied spouse visa Axa building Manila mid October 2009....received it 4 weeks later.

Applied ILR November 2011 at the Cardiff office, as with Arthur, used same day premium service although, we had to wait a couple of days to get passport back via special delivery.

Due to apply for British Citizenship this coming Mid November but, seeing how we will be in The Philippines then, we will apply in December. This time applying in our home town. :D:xxgrinning--00xx3:

Hi, folks ... I have received your personal message on my profile. :icon_sorry: ... I'm afraid Moderators are not empowered to grant access to the Private Messaging facility - which, due to its misuse in the past - is currently no longer available to members who've not yet attained 'Respected' status. Nor, unfortunately, does there seem to be a Message Box into which a reply can be typed on your page.

However, all is not lost! :nono-1-1: ... I'd like to draw your attention to an extremely helpful thread compiled on the 11th of last month by my friend and co-Moderator, Terpe, in the wake of the recent changes. Entitled: 'All New *Guide - How to Apply for Spouse and Partner Visas', it is, as its *name implies, a step by step guide to the process.

Scroll down to the sub-heading: 'How Much Income do I need to have?' Then ... refer to the 4th paragraph which states clearly that "Promises of Third Party Support cannot, any longer, be counted towards financial requirements".

Disappointing for many, I know ... :anerikke: ... but, it would appear that, for now at least, applicants' "hands are tied" in this respect.

Fiancee Visa - 3 days (1 day of actual processing - had to wait for Embassy to send it back) - this was June 2012, Dubai VFS who pass applications on to the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

FLR (M) - PEO appointment (premium service). Took 2 hours from walking in to leaving. After our experience I can recommend trying for an appointment at the UK BA Belfast PEO.

Biometric card just arrived - took 2 days from PEO appointment (Tues - Thurs).

never tried the one in cebu, u can pay for premium services but it's only to avoid waiting there for hours just to give ur papers and enroll biometrics..

Straight forward application, accurate and enough evidence and the rest - I don't know:Cuckoo:. I'm very thankful indeed that both Fiancé and FLRM have been granted quickly. Hope no more delays on 2013 from UKBA.

For some reason Manila, in October, have been really slow.

you can only pay for the premium service which allows your darling to submit her visa app in fast track but like what you have heard from the members here your gf needs to wait till the result comes.

indeed true but lets look on the brighter side of the world of its very nice to walk free and not thinking someones after you because ur illegal.

-i did all the paper works
-submit all the requirements listed in their website
- BUT i also added all our cards for each other (ex.bday card, valentine, xmas, within 2 years), few pictures together within 2 years
-i did write a letter basically saying we would really appreciate and would be so happy if they grant us the ILR bla bla bla and if you need any information or any thing that you are not sure of please do contact us!
that's it had to wait like 2 months then i got letter from them saying have to do the biometric , then after that just wait for the result. they don't even bother to write to you saying they got your biometric bla bla.....

VFS do not decide on Visa's.
All visa applications are sent to the British Embassy (Manila Hub) for processing and decisions.
Applications from Cebu will be sent to Manila.

Why do you think you cannot travel abroad?
As long as you have a valid passport you can travel.
Many place you can visit without a visa. (even Prague in EU)
Many places need a visa but plenty of folks here have done it.
It's just the same whether you have Spouse Visa or ILR. No difference.

Take a chance to go for it. Some great help here for you :xxgrinning--00xx3:

It's just the same whether you have Spouse Visa or ILR. No difference.

Take a chance to go for it. Some great help here for you :xxgrinning--00xx3:

UKBA have yet to return my and my husband's documents/passports.

Spouse visa (Philippines) = 5 days (02/2011)
ILR: documents sent by post and delivered to Durham 05/04/2012, received application acknowledgment letter dated 10/04, received biometrics letter dated 15/04, biometrics done 19/04.
I do hope it won't be long. I'm itching for a holiday abroad.

Got my documents back today along with letter from ukba.
Received my BRP card today too! How cool is that? ;-)

I wonder why mine is still not out yet... Im starting to feel anxious about it. I just want to reunite with my husband asap.. :bigcry:

Hello everyone! finally found this thread! I have posted this information on a new thread but I thought I'd post this here as well. I recently applied for ILR SET(M) visa at Solihull PEO last May 15, 2014. The whole process took 2 hours and 30 minutes. Visa was approved. What surprised me was the waiting time for my new biometric card. I was told it would arrive 7-10 days and I just received mine today, that is the 4th day from my application not counting Saturday and Sunday. Very efficient indeed!

Steff Got her fiancée visa, took 4 weeks , was told recent applications are 5-6 weeks so thanks too all for your help especially Peters great patience with us. The application was worrying because of lack of some proof in income documents, but the forums recommendation of medivisa was spot on to help provide support , and explanatory letter advice.
thankyou all for your help

Hi everyone.. would like to share my good news. My wife and stepson had their settlement visa applications approved! Documents returned yesterday and both passports have said visa inside. Feel ecstatic..18 months of unbelievable stress and turmoil has finally come to an end. Here's my timeline of events:

Applications applied online: 29 April 2015
Applications and biometrics submitted at VAC center in Manila 20 May 2015
Email from British Embassy saying decision has been made 01 July 2015
Email from VAC center saying documents will be returned 02 July 2015
Documents received via courier service to Palawan 03 July 2015

So all in all, about six weeks from submitting our documents to receiving our visas. Much quicker than I had anticipated!
