Not into my consoles as much as I was in the 90's due to the price of the games.

Did like the racing games a lot especially the rally games like Colin McRae.

How much did that one sting you Graham?

It's the latest game and I think it was about 40 quid Jamie (only made for Xbox).

I started off with Need For Speed Shift, then went to NFS Shift2 Unleashed.

I've mounted the the pedals and wheel properly on a self-built unit that can be hooked up to the sofa and does not move about at all. :)

I race online too, though it can be rather annoying with the dodgem car type idiots you get on there.

...Always tend to drive substandard knowing that the cam is on of course.

The sound is run through the big hi-fi speakers, so sounds great.

This isn't a bad lap....Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit, but different game - Shift2.
What you don't sense on these vids is the amazing physics now. You can really 'feel' the car under you.
You've got to be at least as quick as this to compete online. Not too bad for an old bloke. lol :)

I suppose £40 is OK if you get hours and hours of enjoyment out of it but I'd be well hacked off if the game was crap.

You can see and try the demo first.

Worth every penny to be honest. You don't get many beers or meals out...or petrol for that these days. :)

The sophistication of the games now is just amazing.

(Much better quality than comes across on these videos, which youtube tends to spoil).

Indeed.

I can have what really does feel like a good hooligan thrash around a race track without even opening my garage door....so saves a fortune on juice. :D
