On Sunday I go to Nottingham to collect my Filipina stepdaughter from university for the final time.
All grown up from this little provincial cherub I originally was happy to take responsibility for...

It will be wonderful to have her back with us again, but now knowing that she's apparently landed herself a brilliant job in New York...with mixed emotions. Delighted for her, but of course a little sad too. :cwm3:

To be expected Graham, but with your guidence in her developing years, she has a great future in front of her now. I am sure you are proud. :)

Yes, of course I'm proud. :D
She's very 'English' now, but has definitely inherited the pluck and determination of her Filipina mum.

Many of us here can fully understand your feelings Graham. It's just natural.
She will always be your daughter and she will always need you as her dad.
Children are truely for life and we owe them everything :xxgrinning--00xx3:

You've certainly done that Graham...you've provided foundations to hold a tower block. The stars await!
They are always (sometimes!) only a phone call away
Looking ahead now, you are engaged to be married..you never know, you could well have more children :D

I was lucky last time because my boy was a little angel who always slept through and never gave any problems at all. :NEW5:
I think breast feeding helps. :)

Oh well, old people like me are supposed to need less sleep, so may come in handy. :)

I sure that theory comes from thinking 'old people' are doing much less activity than in there younger days. :)

Well fella, I can see where you are coming from, because my little girl is also growing up fast, and I have been dreading it for probably the last five years.
All we always hope for, is that they turn out well, and do better than we did, and you sure have something to be proud of with your (not so) little one there.
As already said though, good chance your wife to be will want more :xxgrinning--00xx3::icon_lol: all over again, you know it makes sense.
Don't know why I'm laughing, I've been told similar!

Education is the best gift that you can give to anyone. Success can bring sadness. It can make you cry with joy.
