Hello everybody
My wife is from Iloilo in the Philippines and after almost a year of marriage has now joined me on a 2 year marriage visa. I am worried that she will be a little lonely at times and also homesick so would love to be part of a community in Manchester (if there is one!).
I am an engineering manager for a large fmcg company and my wife is looking for work as soon as she gets her NI number. Hope to make some friends through this site and I can also give some advice based on my experiences of our (British) Byzantine and antidiluvian visa process!

Hi Antony and to your wife as well. Welcome to the site! My mom's family is from Iloilo and I spent half of my childhood there. I'm in Lincoln now, it would be nice if I was nearer. I hope she gets to meet other Filipinas there as well.

That's the best way to welcome his wife silybilly! Nothing compares to the feeling that there's always a filipino shop you could run into when you miss the dried fish from the Philippines. My fiance is going to a concert in Manchester tonight for a concert thingy? I've told him to go and get dried fish or bagoong from the filipino shop so nobody would stay/sit next to him... lol
Anyway, welcome to the forum... and welcome to the uk...
