I agree Andy it is a disgrace but Mirror report doesn't quite paint the whole picture. Inept management at this trust has like the previous Labour Govt has overspent for years and they expect this year to be £26 million in deficit.

Have a look here http://www.thepressnews.co.uk/NewsDetails.asp?id=5057

Unison branch chairman Adrian O’Malley said the cuts had been exacerbated by the massive private finance initiative (PFI) for new hospitals at Pinderfields and Pontefract.
...
“Just before the General Election, it was confirmed that the trust has debts totalling £77m and that the interest payments on that amount to £1m.

I wonder what obscene salary the trust's Chief Executive trousers ?

I am a nurse and what worries me at the moment is that they want to reduce our pay, reduce our annual leave entitlement and work longer hours.

Any nurses that doesn't like it will be forced to sign a new contract or face dismissal.

I really hope this doesn't happen because it will make bringing a Filipino wife home will be even more difficult.

Its a stupid ideology. Save money on cleaning. What about the bill for treating hospital acquired infection. Drugs, man hours, hospital beds used.
