Hello there -

I had a church wedding back in April in my wife's province. We have the local marriage documents, and are now - still - waiting for the marriage to be registered with the NSO so we can get the national certificate for her visa application.

My understanding is that the local town hall has to register this with the nearest NSO office. This is taking them a long time though - we're in August already, and still no sign of the document.

I've a feeling that town hall officials aren't really pursuing this as enthusiatically as they might.

Does anyone have any experience of a small town wedding and getting it registered with the NSO afterwards? How long should the whole process take?

Many thanks

My wife and I had a civil wedding. It took just a few weeks ( I seem to recall about 3 or 4) to get the Marriage Certs back from the NSO. I believe it is longer for a church wedding.

Hello, you can ask your local registrars office for advance endorsement, either you will forward that to NSO Main Office or they will.we paid 1t for them to do that and after a month from our marriage we were able to get a SECPA copy

You need to ask the city civil registry about electronic endorsement and you need to wait for a month to get NSO marriage certificate copy.

Thank you for all your advice. My wife just got a letter from the local town hall saying it should be ready in September...Hmmm that's a long 5-month wait in comparison to what you all had to wait . Thanks again.
