went to my bank today, NATWEST, and i am planning the next few years in savings and so on, the bank told me that from next year they will be charging for financial advice, thats for everyone, so its best to get all the advice now, just wondered if anyone knows about this

I've found that generally the "advice" they give out is total and utter b*ll*cks.
... so paying for it ????????????????
Additionally, any that they give out advice should be on the FSA register.
Ask to see their name highlighted on the FSA's website before you even start a conversation with them.

Additionally, if they promise something, or you ask them to interprete something (like a clause or condition), get them to write it down & sign it.
If they're not prepared to do that... walk out the door.
