thanks everyone.. really nervous.. just hope to god we get a good result.. just to let you all know, for those who don't know.. we have applied for an EEA Family permit, using my Irish passport as I hold both a British and Irish. But the government from the 16th July have brought in new regulations that British citizens relying on their EEA citizenship can no longer use it for an EEA family permit.. but apparently there is some transitional rules and full implementation does not come into force fully until the 16th october 2012.. :doh

hi everyone, like expected the eea family permit was refused, was refused on amendments to regulation 2.. dual citizens can no longer rely on their EEA citizenship to bring their non EU spouse to the UK.. we pretty much knew it was going to happen so not too shocked about it.. but we do have other plans in store, im planning to go to and spend christmas in the philippines with maria and then we plan to go to ireland together.. in the process of finding out more info about what the next step is.. but so far its sounding good, i was talking to myEurope today and they told me that when we arrive in Ireland the authorities must process maria her residence card.. so one door closes and another opens.. always light at the end of the tunnel.. as they say, don't let the B**tards get you down.. :xxgrinning--00xx3:
