lots of threads on here about this and most days its on the news and in the papers too, but can it be stopped, and who has the right to say you cant let anymore in, can anyone remember when britain opened up the gates to people from the rest of the world, the west indies and africa too, was it to help rebuild britain and there was more jobs then could be filled, so what is the difference now, yes there is no jobs but why can they still keep coming, what would happen if someone said thats it shut the gate , would we but shot, sent to prison, or will it be you cant do that,

Well I don't know about you Ded but I can't see one on the Horizon. I'm sure I read somewhere recently that there's still some more dodgy places up for joining the EU. Albania and one or two others I think. I'll be a minority in London before long :cwm23::cwm23:

Keep the buggers out :Blacklistnonono: ... by far the greater majority cannot speak a word of English - nor have any intention of learning our native tongue - unlike most Filipinos who are taught in English (albeit the American version) from Day 1 at school!

it would take an extreme radical new government im afraid to say, to stop this and turn it around.

Indeed ... :anerikke: ... from what I see on an almost daily basis, many of our Filipina ladies arguably seem to have a far better command of the written English language than do a surprising number of born and bred Brits.

The problem with excessive unskilled immigration, when unemployment is at a high, is that it brings down the salaries and increases the load on the public services.

I still believe that part of the problem isn't simply immigration, but also the incentive to come to the country. It's like having a cookie jar for children, if there are no cookies in the jar they'll have no intention to put their hand in. Reduce the welfare state handouts, reduce the access to public services. If people really need asylum, give them the very basic to get back on their feet.

Skilled and professional migration on the other hand is very important for the country, and brings in many benefits. Having a skilled workforce encourages outside investment in the country and brings in positive diversity.

Some of the Iranian and Indian doctors in the UK are amongst the best surgeons in the world, along with experienced and skilled people from Europe, America and Australasia who all provide a benefit to the country.

Part of the problem is inequality in equality... Whereby to encourage equality additional rights are given to those who are a minority (whilst in the big scheme of things in this world, caucasians are the minority).
The other problem is religion, Islam in its self isn't a bad religion, in fact its very similar to Christianity. There are different denominations of Islam most of which are incredibly peaceful, however this contrasts with the Mujahideen or al-Queda who are a minority tarring the majority. The reality is that whilst the Government appears to be discouraging and moving away from religion (despite many of the laws in the UK based upon Christianity), they have pandered to the minority and brought some of the religious based problems on themselves. Many of the al-Queda followers are people from very poor backgrounds, who have been brainwashed in religion (i.e. those from the poorer areas of Pakistan etc). This bears similarity to the Philippines where people are brainwashed into following Catholism blindly, or the Klu Klux Klan....

Unfortunately the British can be very similar when it comes to integration overseas, the countless numbers of Brits who've emigrated to Spain and setup their own entire little communities where Spanish isn't spoken and you can buy your Fish n Chips or Cadburys Chocolate Fingers...

Immigration in the UK has brought in some awful people (Eastern European Violent Gangs, Asian Spongers, Islamic Extremism) but it's also brought in diversity and skills. I'd consider that the problem is more related to the laws and welfare state in the UK, then actually having open doors. Why else would people camp in Calais and risk their lives to come to the UK, when they have already travelled so far and reached a wonderful country.

Ricky was in the main correct but not quite fully balanced

With regard to his comments about Brits abroad (see below) they do not have the negative impact on their host countries that the tide of uncontrolled immigrant human flotsam has had on the UK. Even without a great deal of integration the Brits are mainly self financing and have not been a drain on health, education, social services and law enforcement resources.

I was specifically talking about the integration side, rather then drain on public services. Although Brits do cause an awful lot of trouble in certain places in Europe such as Benidrom, Ibiza etc. But yes they generally arrive with money.

The concerns in the UK about lack of integration, excessive use of public services to the detriment of tax payers, avoidance of tax, increased crime and a desire to change the law to suit their religious outlook does of course upset the apple cart in the UK. But this is only a minority of the immigrants, although a problem that DOES need to be dealt with for the UK to be successful in the future.

You can totally blame Labour for this, and the Daily Mail certainly has a hand in creating an anti-immigrant sentiment.

Although I agree that it was labours fault personally I didnt see much of a opposition from the tories at the time. Maybe because the fat cat bosses had a chance of cheap labour. Just my opinion.

I’ve corrected my earlier post # 12 with regard to Brit communities abroad I meant to use the word integration not immigration.

There is obviously a distinction between boozed up Brits abroad (a public order issue as it is here) and the failure of massive immigrant communities to integrate into the UK - with them these immigrants bring a host of problems including religious extremism, crime, drug abuse, etc etc.

The boozed up Brits abroad issue could easily be solved by Spain, Greece etc as it could here by imposition of short, sharp, shock jail sentences. They will not of course as they still need the Brit tourist pound to support their euro crippled economies.

I fully support the Daily Mail in telling the immigrant problems as they are because you can't rely on most of the rest of the politically correct, leftwards leaning media to give the true story.

There's only one way to stop mass migration from Europe and that's to get divorced from EU and EU directives.
That would cover everything from free movement of migrants to the legality of 'used' jam jars.

The British public are certainly of a mood right now, but that could change.

Of course if our government were to strictly follow EU directives on free movement of migrants that might help. For example if migrants have no employment and accommodation within 3 months then they can be shipped back legally.

I am not certain that the Spanish and Portugese and Greeks would entirely agree, on the integration of Brits Abroad in their country.

makes it sound even worst if the goverment does not follow the rules, but then again if we had to follow all they give us, it may be worst then it is right now
