Hi, glad to be back here. We have just received our assessment from uknaric and given this assessment; BTEC / SQA Higher National Diploma (HND) Standard / Foundation Degree Standard. I am just wondering if anyone knows what jobs we can apply for given this course equivalent.
Thank you in advance..

What subject is the course in? That's also very significant.
What is the title of your certification?

Hi lastlid, thank you for the response. Actually, I am enquiring on behalf of my friend who is a graduate of physical therapy in the Philippines. He's here in the uk now. He had just received his statement of comparability from uknaric and that was the assessment. We are just wondering if he would be able to apply for any jobs here and what sorts could he apply for?
Many thanks

My wife has a degree from the Philippines in Hotel and Restaurant Management and it didn't seem to impress UK NARIC, unfortunately.
Have a look at this thread from someone in a similar position.

Hi my wife received exactly the same assessment in the UK for her Physiotherapy Degree, and when we contacted Universities it would have required another 2 years studies at least to top it up (they'd need someone in charge of the course to assess her formally to determine that). However there was the option of doing some PT/Fitness Instructor NVQs and would have probably found work easily in that field whilst perhaps studying part time.

What the equivilant of city and guilds these days? It used to be good when I took it in 1981.:laugher:. These qualifications baffle me. What is a b-tech?

City and Guilds tends to be more for vocational qualifications in Engineering but can be equivalent to Honours, Masters and Doctorates in the relevant fields.

HND is somewhere between A levels and a Degree, often equivalent to a year or two of the associated degree course

Depending on which subject your qualification is in, it may be the minimum requirement for an entry level job.
Some employers may only want people with a bachelors degree or higher?
