Hi guys I'm comfused now and don't know when to apply for my ILR. MY UK ENTRY CLEARANCE (SETTLEMENT) SAY VALID FROM 17/11/10/,VALID UNTIL 17/02/13. I arrive Uk November 28, 2010. Can you please tell me when to apply I don't understand about the 28 days before I can apply. Terpe told me that I can apply October 31 this year for my ILR then I call the settlement checking service and they said its too early to make an appointment it should be around December or January so I don't know :( I try to find a telephone no. to call for enquiry but I found nothing please can anyone help me about this matter thanks

As I would have thought, Terpe is correct, as usual.

The 2-year qualifying period started on the date when you arrived in the UK, but you cannot send your application more than 28 days before the end of your 2-year qualifying period.

So in your case your 2-years in the UK will be in November 28 2012, therefore 28 days before that will be October 31. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Terpe is definitely correct Belle ... you WILL be eligible to apply on October 31 ... i.e., two years minus 28 days from the date of your arrival in the UK on a Spousal Visa. :xxgrinning--00xx3:

It seems to me that your local Settlement Checking Service needs to do some proper checking themselves. :icon_rolleyes:

Thanks Terpe I did call our local settlement checking service and sounded like she have no idea about that she just told me straight away that its too early yet to make an appointment.I might just have to wait because that one is closer rather than travelling to Manchester :( a bit far. By the way Terpe, what is this means,,.

If you were given an entry clearance visa (issued abroad), your 2-year qualifying period started from the date your visa was stamped, by the Immigration Officer, when you entered the UK. Thank you very much x
