Hi I am new here and not feeling very positive at all

I have been in a relationship for 9 months with my boyfriend from the Philippines and i am a British resident. How we met....we met at work overseas where we were together for 6 months, the remaining months we have been in contact phone and email.

we are both currently working in different locations and are probably not going to see each other till spring next year.

I want him to be able to come to the UK as i don't want to work overseas anymore i want a permanent residence.

Problem is he is married and i know divorce is against the law in his country so this has made me unsure if we will ever have a chance.

I have read all the info on ukba and some threads on here but i keep getting more and more confused about which route to go.

any ideas? what would you do in this situation? im at a dead end.

Thank you for reading...

Welcome here,

If he is still married then of course you cannot marry him. He can get his marriage 'annulled' in Phils but it is very expensive and takes time. If he is really serious about you this will be the step he has to take, but maybe now he is back home he will not do that and keep you hanging on.
There is no easy answer, you have to follow the rules. I hope your relationship is strong enough for that.

Good luck

if you've been and lived with him for 2yrs it might be possible for him to apply for a unmarried partner visa.
