Hi all. Looking for some information please. Firstly im a 1st time user so please be kind! My fiance got an email today from VFS philippines which stated "A decision on your visa application ref *** has been made by the British embassy. Your application has been received at the uk visa application centre and is ready for collection. What does this mean, has the visa been granted or declined? I logged onto the vfs website and the status says " processed application returned to courier. Is this the normal way to be advised? Thanks guys n gals for any advise here.

Hi Mark0971. You are new so I should be kind and gentle. Hehehe!
As far as I know, it is an automated message from VFS. You wouldn't know if the visa is granted or declined until your fiancee have her passport at hand. If it is granted (which we hope is -- fingers crossed) a visa will be stamped, if it is refused a letter of refusal will also be included. It is a normal communication from VFS as part of their VIP Premium Service.

It means they have reached a decision. Fullstop. Sometimes UKBA send out an email to say that the visa is ready for collection and sometimes they dont. We didn't get such a message from the UKBA but we still got the visa.

Hi Mark, I was just wondering: did your gf not avail for the VIP Premium Service? Because as you said in your first post, when you logged in to VFS website - it said processed application: returned to courier.

In VIP Premium Service, you can choose either you want your docus to be returned by a courier or you, yourself can pick the docus up in VFS. I have used VIP on my applications but I prefer to pick my docus in VFS, I love the feeling of receiving it directly from the staffs. Crazy, innit? :icon_lol:
You can also pay for a courier even if you arent using their VIP service. Extra fee though. :)
To Mark 0971, Im hoping for the best for you and your partner.

She needs to attend CFO guidance counselling and obtain a CFO sticker before she will leave Philippines. She needs that for her exit.

Congratulations mark another positive visa result :Jump: It may be a good idea to have Your fiancé to have a chest X-ray to show when she arrives at the airport in the uk...it is not always asked for but if it is asked for then your fiancé has it to show it saves any hassles later on IMO :xxgrinning--00xx3:

Hiya andrew!
Yes, I am pretty suire that she can do both in one day. I aint sure bout if she gets the sticker in the same building as I went into SMEF-COW for my CFO which was a one stop processing centre (which is closed now).
I am from Davao too. What I have done before was we booked my ticket to London for saturday then I flew to Manila on a thursday, stayed in a hotel near SMEF-COW and done my CFO on a friday. I then flew to London via etihad on that Saturday.
Try to visit the CFO website for the schedule and wait for your passport first to arrive with the VALID VISA on it.:xxgrinning--00xx3:

I have read on this forum that it can be a bit risky attempting to get the CFO sticker and flight on the same day.
Also, foe example, my wife attended the SMEF COW in Manila with 3 others. 2 of them had to go back for another visit as they didn't have their hubbies divorce papers with them.
Getting the CFO sticker(s) on the planned day isn't necessarily a foregone conclusion, evidently.

Yes, your right Lastlid. It can be very risky and it needs to be planned. Limited slots and first come first serve basis in the main CFO office now.
Ive done it in a day as I dont have any minor issues on my side and on my husbands side which makes me a bit lucky to do it all in one day. :Jump::biggrin:
