Hi everyone:smile: ,its difficult time for everone nowadays so I'd like to share with all some informations about work.Im driving buses and belive or not in bus garage where Im working NEED bus drivers! When I try to get my 3 weeks holiday last april,my boss told me that they short of 58 drivers,so He wasnt happy to give me 3 weeks, but in the end I get it.
You need to hold FULL British Driving licence for 2 years.Im working for London Central, but I know that many bus garages need drivers. If You already have driving licence to drive bus,Im sure that it will be easy to get work.If You dont have it,You can apply for course, they will teach You to drive bus and during that training they will even pay You some money. If You good drive,You can complet that course in about 5 weeks.Im not sure ezcacly how much is pay for hour, but I think that about 9 pounds in the begining.Im posting You link if You want to know more.Take care everyone:smile:

And they say there is no jobs out there? Crazy. I heard today of a train company that has not got enough drivers. I believe train drivers are on good salaries.

I think I'd be scared of driving a bus - I'd probably scrape cars left right and centre

But seriously, I'm so surprised that people aren't queing up for the jobs. I should imagine Bus Drivers are on pretty reasonable conditions for a semi-skilled job. If I was out of work, I certainly would apply.
I'm lead to believe that the waiting list to become a train driver is very long!

This might be ignorance, but train driver seems a real doddle of a job. You're running on tracks, so all you seemingly have to do is press go. No turning, the junctions are controlled for you, you just have to know where to stop and how to react to obstructions on the line.
Bus drivers remember will get quite a lot of hassle. There are stories of them being attacked by stupid teens regularly. Drunken passengers etc

Easiest Job I've ever had Ian and I'm looking forward 2014/2015 when I wont have to drive and as you say simply press go.
It can get a little nervy when you're in a tunnel between London Bridge and Bank on a Monday morning and the train wont move and you've got 1000+ people on the back but thankfully thats a rarity.
Speaking of drunks I've been on lates this week and I've had my fair share of drunks to wake up and get off before putting the train in the depot. I don't like Saturday and Sunday nights.
But your right I'd rather drive a Train than a Bus.
