"Australian PM Julia Gillard has outlined a major foreign policy plan aimed at improving Asian ties.

A government white paper sets out 25 national objectives to be met by 2025, with targets ranging from improving trade links to teaching more Mandarin.

My theory is that there will be a levelling up of prices under these circumstances. So that it won't remain cheap to live in the Philippines forever.

I suppose I could have said that my feeling is that the Philippines might well not remain quite so affordable forever, assuming that Julia Gillard is correct.

We are having all of our local roads rebuilt and resurfaced here on Panglao island before the airport is finished..
Many of them are funded by Ausaid to the tune of hundreds of millions of PHP..:wink:
